It all started when I followed my passion - Surfing. In 2018 I quit my office job at the University of Tuebingen an I followed my dream - to live close to the sea and surf as much as I can. Said and done so I went first to France to make the license for being a surf instructor. Without knowing where to go or work I just got a call from a surf camp closed to Peniche with a job offer. A friend of mine already worked there and he helped me to find a Job close to the sea. After some weeks of working two stitches of my almost new wetsuit just opened and I could not use that suit anymore. It took me weeks to get the stitches repaired properly...

Meanwhile I also saw the big amount of worn out wetsuits surf schools and surf camps just have after one season. I guess with this two incidents I just got the idea to upcycle worn out wetsuits. On one hand to reduce that big amount of waste as mostly 80 percent of the wetsuit is still in good conditions and to get a creative process started. With a focus on sustainability and style the idea of upcycling wetsuits into bags was born!
